Going by the main Conqueror's Blade, nearly everything is reachable without spending a cent: quests, events and normal play cover it. The catch is that it all takes time, and early in a season the players who buy the pay-to-win pack get a big head start on everyone still working toward the same things for free. That early advantage is not fair, so yes, it is fair to call it pay to win, at least until free players catch up later on.

Through the Romance Chronicles, TK's version of Conqueror's Blade's seasonal challenges. Working through a Chronicle rewards you with units (as well as heroes and Tactics, which are TK's doctrines). Pick the Chronicle you enjoy and play toward what it unlocks. The New Player Starter guide walks through how to approach them.

The same way: the Romance Chronicles unlock heroes too. In Three Kingdoms a hero is a Spirit, and choosing a weapon means choosing a Spirit, so unlocking a Spirit is how you get a new hero to play. Browse every revealed one on the Spirits page.

No. Three Kingdoms is a separate game with a completely fresh start. Your main-game units, heroes, gear, seasons and account progress do not transfer, everyone begins from zero.

It is the current playtest of Conqueror's Blade: Three Kingdoms, a standalone game set in the Three Kingdoms era. It keeps the commander-and-warband heart of Conqueror's Blade and rebuilds almost everything else around it.

Spirits are Three Kingdoms' heroes. Each weapon class is led by one or more Spirits, and every Spirit carries its own fixed set of four skills (Q, E, Mouse 4 and R), so two Spirits on the same weapon play very differently. There is no skill choice to make: the kit is the Spirit.
