Formations

Dispersed

The unit spreads out a little to lessen the damage from ranged attacks.

Unique doctrines The unit's own doctrine slots from the game data. Amya's picks live in the guide below.

  • Poisons Doctrine VEpic

Guide

Playstyle

  1. Their passive poison deal insane DMG & reduce DMG a lot
  2. Their pike has a nice range of attack. Always try to flank
  3. Optimize DPS by X-moving and V (V, when the auto-attack DMG pop-up appears, X-move and V again to cancel the end of the auto-attack animation)
  4. Their auto-attack “explodes” with poison. Main DMG is poison, so stack some poison (~4/5 auto-attacks), then back off for a few seconds and re-engage. No need to perma front-line during blob fights

The Charge doctrine is a must-have. It’s a flat DMG number (does the same vs phalanx or T2 pikes). You can win matchups you’d never expect: Iron Reapers, even Yanyuedao at their prime with the right charge.

Doctrines

Highest level you can.

Mandatory

  • Pike Assault Doctrine (allows the unit to use the Pike Assault order, flat charge DMG)
  • Poison Doctrine V (+140 all AP, +60 poison DMG, stacks up to 2x)

Top Pick

  • Health & Blunt Defence Doctrine IV (+440 HP, +125 blunt defence)
  • Health & Defence Doctrine IV (+440 HP, +40 all defences)
  • Epic Leadership Doctrine (-16% leadership cost)

Filler

  • Unit Damage Doctrine V (dream setup, replaces Leadership, rarely achievable since most warbands need V slotted elsewhere)

Don’t put

  • Don’t put DMG but Poison V
