Skills

Shock

The unit ushes to the marked spot and deals 300% damage to the first enemy it encounters. Charging with the flail will penetrate armour and will greatly reduce the defence and armour piercing values of hit enemies.

Tiger Step

After attacking, the Iron Reapers will adjust their position and launch another normal attack. For 12 seconds after using this skill, the Iron Reapers will have a chance to initiate a short change against the enemy upon using a normal attack, knocking back the enemy.

Regeneration

Restores 250 health per second for 15 seconds.

Formations

Dispersed

A loose formation that reduces unit vulnerability to ranged weapons.

Line

The unit stand in two ranks, making superior at making frontal attacks.

Column

A narrow formation effective for charging enemies or breaking through their battle lines.

Guide

Counters

  • Loses to: Units that can kait you / Heavy burst (like QK/yorkist)
  • Struggles vs: Debuff (Rattan pikes) / Big range units like phalanx or stalwart if they move good
  • This unit counters: Any block units, insane dmg to kill units spartan/isg/..

Playstyle

If you can’t burst (blob fight / brace units, most cases):

  1. Full sword (Devastation at engage if you play it)
  2. X-move in, use the heavy armour passive (wait a CC / few hits before before pressing tiger step)
  3. Press 2, it will give you DMG, CCi and also reset the dmg reduction trait (press it early if CC incoming)
  4. Wait for enemy to hit you enough to use the passive / let Tiger Step run out (12s)
  5. Reset passive again with charge into C-cancel auto-attack (pressing C once just after they auto-attack to reset the animation), or X+V if you can be close with ur hero

If you can burst (1v1 / blocking unit/ rarely used but good to know):

  1. Start with flails. Get near enough to enemy and charge so they don’t side step you (if you have Devastation, make use of it before swapping)
  2. Switch to swords and click Tiger Step to skip the weapon swap animation
  3. Leave them to do their thing until enemy dies before resetting (you can back early)
  4. Only recommended if you can kill rapidly, or it’s a skirmish vs a blocking unit (you don’t make use of your heavy armour trait)
  5. Help with your hero to break shield formations or stun high-DPS units

Heavy trait passive = 8 hit bonus dmg reduction, per model, reset by abilities.

Doctrines

Highest level you can.

Mandatory

  • Linebreaker Doctrine V
  • Epic Combat Doctrine (3/6/9)
  • Unit Damage Doctrine V

Top Pick

  • Purple Slashing Damage Doctrine
  • -5% DMG taken doctrines

Filler

  • Mouvement Speed After Hit
  • Piercing Def

Don’t put

  • Slashing & Blunt Defence

Speed somehow increases DPS because 20-30% of their fight is walking for their next target to AA.

Example Build

  • Epic Combat Doctrine (3/6/9 hits boost)
  • Unit Damage Doctrine V
  • Linebreaker Doctrine V (Important!!)
  • Purple Slashing Damage Doctrine if you have it, or +30% speed for 5s after hit doc (YOU CAN POP IT BY SWAPPING WEAPON)
  • -5% dmg taken or Epic Leadership Doctrine if needed
